What Should Your Digital Certificate Include?

Digital certificates have many benefits over paper certificates. Planning ahead is crucial when designing digital certificates to ensure all necessary information is included. A checklist can help avoid overlooking important details.

Take a look at a traditional degree, we’ve given an example below. It includes everything you’d expect:

  • Name of the organization
  • Name of the recipient
  • The program/course they completed
  • Signatures from respective authorities
  • Date of Graduation
All the important information that should be included on your digital credential

To validate a digital certificate, it’s crucial to include essential information such as the individual’s name, course details, organization, and date of issuance. This enables employers to quickly verify candidates’ certificates. Custom text, branding, and messages can be added to make the certificate unique and reflect the governing body

A digital certificate provides a solid foundation to include vital information, but it also offers boundless possibilities limited only by imagination. QR codes can be added to provide quick validation, and creative decorations can make certificates unique. The question remains: What should you include in your digital certificate?

Custom Attributes

Digital certificates can use custom attributes that can be created by the issuing body, and the entire process can be automated upon adding extra information. Custom attributes can be anything from the issuer’s contact details to the cumulative grade point of the recipient. Creating attributes provides additional value to your credentials. Automate the creation and issuing of digital certificates with ease.

Make sure everything is the right size.

When designing a digital certificate, prioritize the most important information such as the recipient’s name and course name. Connecting sentences, dates, and signatures can be of smaller font size and thickness. Increase font size or weight to highlight important information.

With Hyperstack’s Design Studio, automating the certificate design process is easy. You can set low-priority attributes to smaller font size, weight, and position to ensure a consistent look. Plus, long names can be automatically scaled to fit the allotted space.

Certificate size is just as important.

Resize your digital certificate to match paper certificate sizes. Default certificate sizes are given below.

  • 1056 x 816 pixels for US-Letter Landscape or 3418 x 2668 pixels for HQ printing
  • 816 x 1056 pixels for US-Letter Portrait or 2668 x 3418 pixels for HQ printing
  • 1123 x 794 pixels for A4 Landscape or 3626 x 2598 pixels for HQ printing
  • 794 x 1123 pixels for A4 Portrait or 2598 x 3626 pixels for HQ printing

Ensure your elements are high-quality.

Personalize your digital certificates with custom branding and decorations, including logos, ribbons, border designs, and background images that can be easily uploaded to Hyperstack’s Design Studio. However, ensure all uploaded elements are of high quality and correctly sized and positioned to prevent blurriness or distortion.

Ensuring the quality of the printed certificate is crucial to maintaining its integrity as a digital certificate.

Optimizing image quality is crucial to avoid long loading times for digital certificates.

The amount of effort you put into planning the information you wish to be displayed on certificates that you issue will be what sets your organization in the limelight or not.

Hyperstack’s Design Studio allows you to do just that. Choose from thousands of templates all with the required information that should be included in your digital certificate.
