Digital diplomas: what changes for graduates and registrars

More institutions issue diplomas as verifiable digital credentials alongside the paper copy. What it means on both sides of the stage.

The paper diploma is not going away; graduates still want something to frame. But more institutions now issue a verifiable digital version alongside it, and that changes the experience for everyone involved.

For graduates

A digital diploma can be shared the day results are confirmed, added to LinkedIn, and attached to job applications as a link that employers can check. It lives in a wallet, so it is never lost in a move.

For registrars

Verification requests that once arrived by email and phone can be answered by the credential itself. Replacement requests disappear. And when a record needs correcting, the link stays the same while the details update.
