A golf certificate template gives a club, a society or an event organiser a ready page for the day the scores are in. Golf clubs, charity days, corporate outings and junior academies award winners at the end of a tournament, a league season or a club championship, and a golf certificate is often handed over next to a trophy or a voucher.
A good one names the event, the result and the player, and carries the date and the signatures of the people who attested it. You can print the certificates in A4 and US Letter for the clubhouse wall, and send a golf badge by email, where the winner can share it with the club and on LinkedIn.
Wording
What to write on a golf certificate
Use these lines as they are, or as a start for your own. Every template comes with wording you can change in the studio.
Wording for a golf tournament winner certificate
- “Awarded for the lowest gross score at the club tournament.”
- “In recognition of a round played with patience, precision and sound course management.”
- “Champion of the annual charity golf day, played in the spirit of the game.”
Wording for a club championship or league season
- “Club champion for the season, with the lowest aggregate score over four rounds.”
- “For a winning season at the head of the order of merit.”
- “Presented to the winner of the seniors' championship flight.”
Wording for side prizes and juniors
- “Awarded for the longest drive on the 14th hole.”
- “For the closest to the pin on the par 3 at the 7th.”
- “For fine progress and a first round under 100.”

FAQ
Questions, answered
The player's name, the event, the result (such as low gross or champion), the date and the course. Many clubs add the format, such as stroke play or Stableford, and the flight.
Usually the tournament director or the club captain. A scorecard has a marker and an attester, so two signatures, such as the director and the captain, also suit a certificate.
Runners-up and flight winners, and side prizes such as the longest drive and the closest to the pin. A certificate for each costs little and players like to keep them.
Gross is the number of strokes played. Net is the gross score less the player's handicap, so players of different levels can compete. Say which one you award.
At the prize giving after the round, or in the season's closing dinner for a league or a club championship. A digital one can also go out by email on the same evening.
Yes. Many clubs award a certificate for a hole in one with the player, the hole, the distance, the date and the witnesses, and the club often keeps a list on a board.
