Design notes

The page runs from the course and format fields to a large title and the champion's name on the PLAYER line. A citation and three numbered results sit side by side. Below them the front nine and the back nine are two stacked strips, and the winner's total is ringed in gold pencil. Marker and attest signatures, the date, the card number and the QR code finish the page. It works for club championships, seniors' days and society trophies.

About

Golf Tournament Champion Certificate, Scorecard Portrait

Some clubs frame the winner's certificate and hang it in the clubhouse next to the honours boards, and a tall page suits that wall. The portrait certificate keeps the scorecard idea but holds the card upright, the way a pocket card is read.

Wording on the template“Awarded for the lowest gross score of the tournament: a round played with patience, precision and sound course management under competition conditions. The result is recorded and attested on the official scorecard by the tournament committee.”

Post for the recipient to share

Proud to share that I won the club tournament this weekend. A steady round, good course management and a few lucky putts made the difference. Thank you to the committee and my playing partners for a great day. #golf #sport #achievement

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.

  • A full record: name, statement, skills, dates and signatures
  • Printed and framed, or kept as a PDF
  • Opens to a page anyone can verify

Digital badge

  • A small image people put on LinkedIn and in email signatures
