A mentor certificate template gives you a ready layout for closing a mentoring program well. Companies use one at the end of a graduate, onboarding or leadership scheme; schools and universities for peer, teacher and alumni mentors; charities and youth clubs for volunteers who met a young person every week. The same certificate for mentorship can go to both people in a pair: the mentor who gave time and advice, and the mentee who set goals and did the work.
A good mentoring certificate names the program, says what the pair worked on (career guidance, goal setting, feedback, new contacts), records how long it ran and carries a signature from the program lead. The designs here come as certificates in A4 and US Letter and as badges, so you can print one for the wall and send the same award by email, where it can be verified and added to LinkedIn.
Wording
What to write on a mentorship program certificate
Use these lines as they are, or as a start for your own. Every template comes with wording you can change in the studio.
Wording for a certificate of appreciation for a mentor
- “With sincere thanks for the time, patience and honest advice you gave as a mentor this year.”
- “In appreciation of your guidance, which helped your mentee find their direction and their confidence.”
- “For opening doors, asking the right questions and sharing what you have learned along the way.”
Wording for a mentee completing a mentorship program
- “For taking an active part in the Mentorship Program and reaching the goals you set at the start.”
- “In recognition of six months of commitment, curiosity and growth as a mentee.”
- “Awarded for completing the program and for every conversation you prepared for and followed up.”
Short lines for the badge or the email
- “Thank you for being a mentor.”
- “Mentorship Program: completed together.”
- “Six months, one partnership, real progress.”

FAQ
Questions, answered
They can. Many programs use one design for both and change a role line to Mentor or Mentee, so the pair hold matching records. If the program is mainly a thank-you to volunteers, give mentors a certificate of appreciation and mentees a certificate of completion.
At the end of the program or cohort, often at a closing session or celebration where pairs share what they achieved. Some programs also give one at a midpoint review, or when a mentor finishes a fixed number of pairings.
Name the program and its length, then say what the partnership covered, such as career planning, skill development or introductions to a professional network. One or two specific sentences mean more than general praise.
Usually the program director or coordinator, often with a senior sponsor such as the head of HR, a school principal or the charity's chief executive. In a small scheme, the person who matched the pairs is a good signer.
Yes. A certificate that names the program, the length and the areas of support is useful in a CV, a teaching or coaching portfolio, or a professional development record. A verifiable digital version lets an employer check it directly.
