Design notes

The portrait version hangs a graphite line from the top edge like a plumb line. Level with the name it joins a coral line in a sheet bend, and the coral line runs on to the foot of the page. Every text sits left-aligned beside it: the title, the name, the program, a short statement, a two-column list of what the pair worked on, the role, duration, issue date and credential ID, two signatures and the QR code. The tall shape fits a binder, a report or a printed portfolio.

About

Mentor Certificate Template, Sheet Bend Portrait

Mentoring programs often run for a semester or a year, and the end of one is a good moment to put the relationship on record. A mentorship certificate does that for both people: the mentor who gave time and judgement, and the mentee who brought questions, set goals and followed through. Companies use it for graduate and leadership schemes, schools for peer and teacher mentoring, and charities and youth clubs for volunteer mentors who stayed the course.

Wording on the template“For regular conversations, candid advice and goals set, worked on and reached together. Recognised for the time, trust and care given on both sides of the mentoring partnership, with thanks for every step along the way.”

Subject: Thank you for being part of our mentorship program, name

Hi name,

The mentorship program has come to a close, and we want to thank you for everything you put into it: the conversations, the honest questions and the goals you worked on together.

Your mentorship certificate is ready. Open it to see your record, download a copy to print, or add it to your LinkedIn profile so your network can see the work you did.

With thanks from the whole program team.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

This year I took part in our mentorship program, and I have just received my certificate. Six months of regular conversations taught me as much as I hoped to pass on. Thank you to my mentoring partner for the honesty and the effort, and to the program team for making the pairing happen. #Mentorship #Mentoring #ProfessionalDevelopment

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
