Design notes

This landscape certificate uses the backboard as its page frame. The player's name is the largest line on the upper glass. Inside the shooter's square sit the league, the season, the level and the games played, with an orange ring and net hanging below. Season highlights and a statement fill the flanks, and the date issued, the credential ID, two signatures with their roles and a QR code run along the foot. It suits kids' leagues as well as college clubs.

About

Basketball Season Award Certificate Template, Backboard

A season award is how a basketball league says thank you to the players who carried it: the top scorer, the assist leader, the best defender, the captain. Coaches, school athletics departments and clubs hand it out at the season banquet, and parents pin the print on the bedroom wall.

Wording on the template“For an outstanding season in the league: a scorer the team could count on every night, a passer who made every teammate better and a defender who never gave up a possession. Earned on the court, game after game, all season long.”

Subject: Your basketball season award, name

Hi name,

What a season. Your hard work, your teamwork and your effort in every game made a difference to the whole team, and we want to say thank you properly.

Your certificate is ready. Open it to see it, download a copy to print for the wall, or share it with family and friends.

Congratulations, and see you on the court next season.

Post for the recipient to share

Our basketball season is over, and I just received my season award from the league. It was a lot of early practices, long bus rides and close games, and I would do all of it again. Thank you to my coach, my teammates and my family for backing me all year. On to next season. #Basketball #TeamSports #SeasonAward

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
