Design notes

In this portrait version the record is set in a centred column: the organisation and the title, the student's name in script, a statement of what was shown in the exam, the program in a wine serif, then the level, result, issue date and the skills studied and assessed. The upper half of the circle of fifths stands at the foot of the page as an engraved arch, from E flat round to A with C on the centre line and a treble clef in the hub. A signature sits on each side of the arch, with the verification code under the left one and the credential number under the right. It suits academies, choirs and community music programs.

About

Music Certificate Template, Circle of Fifths Portrait

For many young musicians, the certificate from a theory or performance grade is the first proof of years of practice. Teachers and music schools hand it out at a recital, a prize-giving or the last lesson of term, and a portrait sheet fits naturally into a practice folder, a portfolio for a scholarship audition or a frame beside the piano.

Wording on the template“has shown fluent sight-reading, a secure ear and a sound grasp of harmony, and has performed with control and musicianship, alone and with others, to the examiners' standard.”

Subject: Congratulations, name: your music certificate is here

Hi name,

Congratulations on your result! All those hours of scales, sight-reading and rehearsal have paid off, and we are very proud of what you showed in your exam.

Your music certificate is ready. Open it to see it, download a copy to print for your practice room, or share it on LinkedIn and with your family so they can celebrate with you.

Keep playing, and we look forward to hearing what comes next.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

Very happy to share that I passed my Grade 5 music theory and performance exam with merit. Months of scales, sight-reading and ear training went into this, and I am grateful to my teacher for her patience and encouragement. Next step: Grade 6, and more time making music with others. #Music #MusicTheory

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
