Design notes

This landscape design borrows the honour board that hangs in many school halls. A navy board with an arched crest plate for the school logo, a cornice that carries the institution's name in gilt and a raised panel of ruled rows fills the top of the page; the student's name is lettered in gilt script on the lit row, with the award beneath it. On the paper below, three columns hold the reason for the award, four achievements, the level, the grade average, the issue date and the credential ID, then two signatures and a QR code for verification. It suits schools and colleges that like a traditional, formal award.

About

Academic Excellence Certificate Template, Honour Board

An academic excellence award goes to the students whose results stand out across a whole year: the top of the class, a grade point average near the maximum, distinction in every subject. Schools, colleges and universities present it at a prize day, an honours assembly or a commencement ceremony, and parents often frame it next to the report card it sums up.

Wording on the template“In recognition of outstanding academic achievement this year: sustained excellence in every subject, a place at the top of the class and work of the highest standard, earning a place among the institution's finest scholars.”

Subject: Congratulations, name: your Academic Excellence Award

Dear name,

Your results this year placed you among our very best students, and we are proud to present you with the Academic Excellence Award. It reflects the hard work, the late evenings of study and the care you put into every subject.

Your certificate is ready. Open it to see it, download a copy to print and frame, or share it on LinkedIn and in your college applications so others can see what you achieved.

Well done, and keep going.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

I am proud to share that I received the Academic Excellence Award from my school this year. It recognises a year of steady work across every subject, and I could not have done it without my teachers, my classmates and my family, who kept me going through every exam season. On to the next challenge. #AcademicExcellence #StudentAchievement

Recipients share it with one click from their credential page, with the badge attached.

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
