Design notes

Here an engraved chef's knife with copper rivets lies under the graduate's name, and the woven stripes of a French kitchen towel frame the page, with a small toque mark in the spot for the school's logo. It carries the program, the issue date, the credential ID, a QR code and two signatures for a chef instructor and a program director. A warm, classic choice for culinary schools and cooking academies.

About

Culinary Certificate Template: Culinary Arts Diploma

A culinary arts diploma marks the end of months in a teaching kitchen: knife skills drilled until every cut is even, the five mother sauces, food safety, menu planning and life inside the kitchen brigade, usually closed by an externship in a working restaurant. Culinary schools, community colleges, hospitality institutes and hotel training kitchens award it when a student completes the program and is ready to take a station on the line.

Subject: Congratulations, Chef name: your culinary certificate

Hi name,

Congratulations on finishing your culinary training. From your first knife cuts to the practical exams and your time in a working kitchen, you have earned this.

Your certificate is ready. Open it to see it, download a copy to print for the kitchen wall, or add it to your LinkedIn profile so restaurants and hotels can see your training.

We are proud of you. Go cook something wonderful.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

I finished culinary school. Two years of knife work, stocks and sauces, pastry and food safety, plus an externship in a busy restaurant kitchen, and today I received my certificate. Thank you to my chef instructors for their patience and their high standards. Now I look for my first line cook position. #CulinaryArts #ChefLife

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.

Certificate

  • A full record: name, statement, skills, dates and signatures
