Design notes

The portrait format gives the height-chart idea its full length. A tall wooden rule runs from top to bottom, the three term marks climb it with the widest gap for this year, and the green line carries the name across the page. A detail block lists the period, what was measured and what the award is for, progress against the student's own starting point. Two signatures and a QR code with the credential ID under it close the page, and the tall shape suits a frame or a bedroom wall.

About

Most Improved Student Award Template, Height Marks Portrait

Schools give a most improved student award to recognise real progress: a pupil who now reads with confidence, finishes homework every week or has lifted their maths grade term by term. Teachers, tutoring centres and after-school programs often present it alongside top-marks prizes, so that steady work and a growth mindset are celebrated in the same assembly. Parents tend to keep it in a folder with report cards.

Wording on the template“For remarkable progress over the school year. Through steady effort, patience and the courage to keep trying, this student has grown in confidence and in results, term by term, and set a fine example for the whole class.”

Post for the recipient to share

I am proud to share that I received the Most Improved Student award at my school this year. I set myself goals in maths and science, kept a study routine all year and asked for help when I needed it, and my grades rose term by term. Thank you to my teachers for their patience and encouragement. #GrowthMindset #StudentLife

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
