Design notes

The portrait version turns the scoresheet on its long side, so it fits a folder, a notice board or a frame on a classroom wall. The form heads run across the top, the name sits under PLAYER / TEAM, and the rounds stack as ruled rows on the right, each with a red-pencil tick, down to the RESULT row with MERIT circled. The statement, the issue date and the credential ID fill the left column, with the two signatures and the QR code at the foot. It suits organisers who print certificates on A4 or US Letter and hand them out at an assembly.

About

Quiz Certificate Template, Scoresheet Portrait

Most quiz events keep a written record. Before the first question, the scorekeeper heads a sheet with the event, the stage and the team; during play each round gets its own ruled line, and at the end the quizmaster and scorekeeper check the totals and sign. School clubs, house competitions, college societies and community quiz leagues award certificates from that sheet, often to every member of a team that reached the final, not only the winners.

Wording on the template“took on four themed rounds of questions against the clock and under match rules, and earned a result of merit on the final scoresheet, checked and signed by the quizmaster and the scorekeeper.”

Subject: Your quiz competition certificate, name

Dear name,

Congratulations on your result in the quiz competition. Your team kept its focus through every round, and the scoresheet shows it.

Your certificate is ready. Open it to see your result, then download a copy to print or share it with your family, your teachers and your friends online.

Thank you to you and your teammates for the hours of practice before the final. We hope to see your team at the quiz table again next term.

Post for the recipient to share

Proud to share that our team earned a result of merit in this year's general knowledge quiz competition. Four themed rounds, a lot of fast thinking and some very close answers. Thank you to my teammates for the practice sessions and to the quizmaster and the organizers for a well-run final. #QuizCompetition #Teamwork #Education

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
