Design notes

This landscape design turns the program into a calendar page. Four week rows have every weekday struck through with a ballpoint stroke, and the last Friday is ringed in coral for the showcase. Beside the calendar sit the student's name, the program, a short statement, four modules, the duration, schedule and final project, and two signatures, with the issue date, credential ID and QR code at the foot. It suits universities and schools that want a clean, contemporary record.

A summer school packs a term's worth of study into a few intensive weeks of the break. Universities run them for visiting and incoming students, schools offer them for enrichment or catch-up, and colleges and language institutes use them for short credit-bearing courses. Learners attend daily classes, seminars or lab sessions and usually finish with an exam, a presentation or a final project. A certificate of completion records that the student attended the whole program and met its requirements, and it is often handed out on the closing day.

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
