Design notes

This landscape version reads like the opening page of a paper in the bound proceedings. A running head carries the logo and organisation, a narrow margin column lists the award date, credential ID, selection body, review type and category above the QR code, and a gold bookmark ribbon points its notch at the recipient's name. The main column holds the title with a dagger, the conference, an abstract-style statement, keywords and two signatures. It suits a framed print on a lab or office wall.

About

Best Paper Certificate Template, Proceedings Bookmark

A best paper award is the highest recognition a programme committee can give a submission. After double-blind review, the committee ranks the accepted papers on originality, rigour, significance and clarity, and the chair announces the winner at the closing session or the awards dinner. Universities, professional associations and journal-run symposia present it to the lead author or to the whole team.

Wording on the template“Chosen by the programme committee as the best of all papers presented at the conference: original, rigorous research of real significance to its field, set out with exceptional clarity.”

Subject: Congratulations, name: your paper won the Best Paper Award

Dear name,

On behalf of the programme committee, congratulations. After reading every accepted paper again, the committee chose yours as the best paper of this year's conference. It stood out for the quality of its research and the care with which it was written.

Your Best Paper Award certificate is ready. Open it to view it, download a copy to print or frame, and add the badge to your LinkedIn profile or faculty page so colleagues can see the recognition.

With warm regards and congratulations from the committee.

Post for the recipient to share

Happy to share that our paper received the Best Paper Award at this year's conference. Thank you to my co-authors, my supervisor and the reviewers whose careful comments made the work better. It means a lot to see research we spent so long on recognised by the community. #BestPaperAward #Research #AcademicConference

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.

Certificate

  • A full record: name, statement, skills, dates and signatures
  • Printed and framed, or kept as a PDF
  • Opens to a page anyone can verify

Digital badge

  • A small image people put on LinkedIn and in email signatures
  • Carries the verified details inside it (Open Badges 2.0)
  • One click shows who earned it and who issued it
