Design notes

The portrait version turns the postcard upright, which suits a page that will be framed or kept in a folder of mementos. The swallow stamp and its postmark, dated on the issue day, sit at the top right beside the logo. The name is written large across full-width address lines, followed by the program and the senders. A level divider then opens A NOTE OF THANKS: a short statement, four reasons for thanks in two columns, the team and credential ID, two signatures and a QR code to verify it.

People leave for many reasons: a promotion elsewhere, a family move, the end of a contract or a tour of duty, or the last day of school. A farewell certificate tells them, in writing, that their time counted. Employers, schools, charities and clubs give it at the send-off, often with a few lines about what the person brought to the group and the names of those who sign it.

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
