Design notes

This landscape design treats the award as a gyotaku catch record. A full-size largemouth bass in black ink fills the left side, with the title, the angler's name in a brush script, the event and a short statement under it, and two signature lines for the tournament director and the weighmaster. A column on the right holds the record: species, big fish, length, total bag, achievements, the date, the certificate number and a QR code, signed with a vermilion BIG FISH seal.

Fishing Tournament Certificate Template, Gyotaku Record

Every fishing tournament ends at the scales. Judges weigh each bag, check that fish were kept alive under catch-and-release rules and post the results, and the angler with the biggest fish or the heaviest limit takes the title. Bass clubs, kids' fishing derbies, company outings and charity events give a certificate at the awards table so the result is on paper as well as on the leaderboard.

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
