Design notes

This portrait layout is a tall ID card on one centred axis. The lanyard hook passes through the slot in the blue band, and the logo sits in a framed photo spot above the Intern chip, the name and the program. A five by two grid shows weeks one to ten, with the last week in marigold. A row below gives the issue date, credential number, duration and format, then two signatures and a QR code close the page. It suits interns who want a printable record.

About

Internship Certificate of Completion Template

An internship certificate of completion is handed to interns at the end of a placement, whether a summer program, a semester co-op or a training attachment. Employers, colleges and early careers teams issue it to show the role, the length of the placement and the skills the intern practised, such as project delivery, teamwork and a final presentation.

Wording on the template“has completed a ten-week internship, delivering real project work under mentorship and presenting the results to the team.”

Subject: Your internship certificate is ready, name

Hi name,

Thank you for your time with us this season. You took on real projects, asked good questions and shared your results with the team, and we have enjoyed working with you.

Your internship certificate is ready. Open it to check your role and dates, download a copy to print for your records, or add it to your LinkedIn profile.

We wish you the very best for your studies and your career.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

I have completed my internship. In a few weeks I worked on a real project, presented my results to the team and learned more than I expected about working with others. Thank you to my mentor and everyone who made time to teach me. I am glad I took this step. #Internship #FirstJob

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.

Certificate

  • A full record: name, statement, skills, dates and signatures
  • Printed and framed, or kept as a PDF
  • Opens to a page anyone can verify

Digital badge

  • A small image people put on LinkedIn and in email signatures
  • Carries the verified details inside it (Open Badges 2.0)
  • One click shows who earned it and who issued it
