Design notes

The portrait version is composed like the tall first sheet of a patent-style document. The header carries the credential number, the date, the certificate title and the organisation; the recipient's name and the award program run the full width beneath a heavy rule. A large paper dart drawing, labelled FIG. 1 with numbered leader lines, fills the middle of the page like an inventor's figure. Below it the abstract and three numbered claims sit side by side, then two signatures with a violet GRANTED stamp and the QR code for verification. The tall format suits a frame or a printed portfolio.

About

Innovation Award Template, Patent-Style Paper Dart Portrait

Some organisations present an innovation award once a year; others run a rolling scheme where any employee can put forward an improvement and a panel picks the winners. Either way, the certificate is often the thing people keep, pinned above a desk or framed in a lab. Good wording names the idea, the result it delivered and the people who judged it.

Wording on the template“For an original idea, put into practice, that changed how the work is done: a better process, real savings and a hard problem solved in a way no one had tried before.”

Subject: name, your idea won the Innovation Award

Hi name,

Congratulations. The judges picked your idea for this year's Innovation Award. What started as a suggestion is now part of how we work, and the difference it has made is clear to everyone who uses it.

Your award certificate is ready. Open it to see it, download a copy to print, or share it on LinkedIn so your network can see what you built.

Thank you for asking how things could work better, and for doing something about it.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

Proud to share that my idea won our company's Innovation Award this year. It started as a small fix to a process that frustrated our whole team, and it is now how we work every day. Thank you to the colleagues who tested it, argued with it and made it better. #Innovation #InnovationAward #ContinuousImprovement

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
