Design notes

The card opens with the thumb notch and INSERT THIS END at the top, then the organisation, the title and the card number with the credential ID. The retiree's name is written in script on the NAME line, a short statement follows, and the program has its own ruled field. Below it the record of service runs down the card: three contributions with faded punches and a final entry stamped FINAL OUT in red with the date. Occasion and issue date, two signatures with their roles and a QR code close the foot.

About

Retirement Certificate for Employee, Time Card Portrait

Real time cards were tall and narrow, slotted into a rack beside the clock, and this portrait certificate keeps that shape. It fits a frame on an office wall or a page in a farewell album, and works well for a teacher leaving a school after decades, a nurse ending a career on the ward or a long-serving employee whose colleagues want a keepsake that says more than thank you.

Wording on the template“With gratitude for every working day of a long and dedicated career: for the colleagues guided, the knowledge shared and the work that will long outlast it.”

Subject: name, congratulations on your retirement and thank you

Dear name,

As you finish your last day with us, we want to thank you for everything you gave over the years: the work, the patience and the people you helped along the way. You leave a gap that will be hard to fill.

Your retirement certificate is waiting for you. You can download it to print and frame, keep the digital copy, or share it with friends and former colleagues online.

We wish you a long, healthy and happy retirement.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

After thirty-one years, I clocked out for the last time this week. I am grateful to the colleagues who taught me, the teams I led and the friends I made along the way. Thank you to everyone who came to the farewell and for this certificate. Now for gardening, travel and a lot more time with my family. #Retirement #Grateful

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
