Design notes

The portrait is the closest of this set to a real letter, because a business letter is a tall page. A letterhead with a violet rule runs across the top, the reference number and date sit at the upper right, and the recipient's name spans the full text width. Below the statement and four placement tasks, a row between two hairlines gives the role, from and to dates and duration. The supervisor signs at the foot beside a violet office stamp and a QR code. It fits a student portfolio, a school file or a personnel record.

About

Work Experience Certificate Template, Letterhead Portrait

At the end of a work experience week, the student or trainee usually leaves with two things: a logbook or reflection for their school and a signed record from the host. That record matters later, when a sixth-form application, an apprenticeship form or a first job interview asks what the person has already done. A clear one says who they worked for, in what role, between which dates and for how long, and who supervised them.

Wording on the template“joined our team for a supervised placement and carried out real work with punctuality, care and a willingness to learn. We thank them and wish them every success.”

Subject: Thank you for your work experience with us, name

Hi name,

Thank you for spending your work experience placement with our team. It was good to have you with us, and you took on every task with care.

Your certificate of work experience is ready. It records your role, your dates and the work you did, signed by your supervisor. Open it to see it, download a copy to print for your portfolio, or add it to your CV and LinkedIn profile.

Good luck with what comes next, and do keep in touch.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

I have just finished my work experience placement as a Marketing Assistant, and I have the certificate to show for it. In two weeks I learned how a real team plans its work, sat in on meetings and helped with tasks that were actually used. Thank you to my supervisor and everyone who made time to explain things to me. #WorkExperience #EarlyCareers

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
