Design notes
On this landscape page the driver's name sits inside the lesson itself: three nested contours of space with the gaps marked 3 s and 6 s+ along an arrow pointing right, the outer one in amber. Under it come the course, a statement, six assessed skills, the duration and format, the issue date, a valid-until date, the credential ID, two signatures and a QR code. The measured, drawing-office look suits professional and fleet drivers.
About
Defensive Driving Certificate, Space Cushion Landscape
Defensive driving courses teach licensed drivers to stay out of trouble that other road users cause. The core habits are a safe following distance (at least three seconds in good conditions, more in rain, fog or darkness), a cushion of clear space on every side, scanning well ahead and in the mirrors, and spotting hazards early enough to have a way out. Employers with fleets, fleet-safety training companies and road-safety organisations run the course in a classroom, in the vehicle or both, and keep a certificate in each driver's training file.
Wording on the template“Has shown the habits of a defensive driver: a safe following distance and a space cushion all round, scanning well ahead, reading hazards early and managing fatigue and distraction.”More wording ideas for defensive driving certificates

Subject: name, your defensive driving certificate is ready
Hi name,
Thank you for taking part in our defensive driving course. You put real attention into the habits that keep people safe on the road: a good following distance, space all round, eyes well ahead and an early read on hazards.
Your certificate is ready. Open it to see it, download a copy to print for your training file, or add it to your LinkedIn profile.
Drive safely, and thank you for setting a good example to the rest of the team.

Post for the recipient to share
I completed a defensive driving course this week. After years of driving for work, it was a useful reset: more space to the vehicle in front, earlier scanning, and honest talk about fatigue and distraction on long days. Thanks to our trainers for making it practical and to my employer for taking road safety seriously. #DefensiveDriving #RoadSafety #FleetSafety

Printing
Printing it well
Print at actual size
Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.
Use card, not paper
A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.
Frame it
A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.
Mind the edges
Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
Certificate or badge?
