Design notes

The portrait version turns the space cushion upright. The name sits at the foot of three rounded contours, and the forward space rises above it with the 3 s and 6 s+ gaps marked along an arrow pointing up, under the logo, organisation and title on the centre line. Below are the course, the statement, six skills with amber dashes, one row of five details, and two signatures with the QR code between them. The tall format fits a binder sleeve, a frame or a depot noticeboard.

About

Defensive Driving Certificate, Space Cushion Portrait

A certificate of completion for defensive driving is often asked for long after the course: by a fleet manager checking who may take a company van, by a client's site safety team, or during an audit of an employer's road-risk programme. Driver-training firms and in-house HSE teams therefore record more than the name: the course, what was assessed, how long it ran, when it was issued and when the driver should take a refresher.

Wording on the template“Has shown the habits of a defensive driver: a safe following distance and a space cushion all round, scanning well ahead, reading hazards early and managing fatigue and distraction.”

Subject: name, your defensive driving certificate is ready

Hi name,

Thank you for taking part in our defensive driving course. You put real attention into the habits that keep people safe on the road: a good following distance, space all round, eyes well ahead and an early read on hazards.

Your certificate is ready. Open it to see it, download a copy to print for your training file, or add it to your LinkedIn profile.

Drive safely, and thank you for setting a good example to the rest of the team.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

I completed a defensive driving course this week. After years of driving for work, it was a useful reset: more space to the vehicle in front, earlier scanning, and honest talk about fatigue and distraction on long days. Thanks to our trainers for making it practical and to my employer for taking road safety seriously. #DefensiveDriving #RoadSafety #FleetSafety

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
